Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Central Hospital, in partnership with Exceed Worldwide Cambodia, has proudly inaugurated the Exceed Central Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) Clinic, a landmark development in specialized healthcare services in Cambodia. This collaboration aims to enhance mobility, independence, and overall quality of life for individuals with disabilities or functional impairments by providing access to world-class prosthetic and orthotic care.
Located on the 2nd floor of Central Hospital, the clinic is equipped with the latest P&O technology and staffed by four highly experienced Cambodian specialists. This initiative aligns with Central Hospital’s vision of delivering a world-class integrated healthcare system in the Kingdom.
“Through this collaboration with Exceed, the Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic opens today, offering patients a comprehensive approach to mobility and rehabilitation,” said Dr. Sim Sovannara, Director of Central Hospital.
“The clinic marks a milestone in our journey to provide quality healthcare to all Cambodians, reinforcing our long-term commitment to comprehensive medical services.”

Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services
The clinic offers a full spectrum of rehabilitation services, including assessment, diagnosis, prescription, and the production of custom-made prosthetic and orthotic devices. All devices are produced locally at the Cambodian School of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Phnom Penh.
“This is the first model clinic located in a private hospital, and we plan to open more across the country,” said Chanvicheat Kheng, Clinic Manager.
“Cambodians no longer need to travel abroad for advanced P&O treatments. International-standard care is now available right here at home.”
A Local Solution with Global Standards
Access to advanced medical and rehabilitation services has long been limited in Cambodia, often requiring patients to seek care abroad. The opening of this clinic now offers a local, high-quality solution, reducing travel and cost burdens while ensuring patients receive top-tier care.
Central Hospital: A Comprehensive Medical Hub
Established in 2011, Central Hospital has been a pioneer in Cambodian healthcare, specializing in cardiology while offering a broad range of medical services. These include cardiovascular care, general medicine, surgery, hemodialysis, 24-hour emergency care, laboratory and imaging services, and ambulance support. With 150 beds, four operating theaters, and advanced ICU facilities, the hospital remains committed to innovation and patient-centered care.
Exceed Worldwide Cambodia: Restoring Mobility and Independence
Active since 1989, Exceed Worldwide Cambodia focuses on supporting people with disabilities through prosthetic and orthotic services. Their model reinvests profits from paid services to support free treatment for disadvantaged individuals. Exceed also manages a P&O school, now part of the Faculty of Prosthetic & Orthotic Engineering at the National Institute of Social Affairs, offering accredited degree programs for both Cambodian and international students.

Collaborating for Accessible Healthcare
The partnership between Central Hospital and Exceed aims to expand charitable rehabilitation services and ensure high-quality care is accessible to all, especially those unable to afford treatment.
“Addressing structural reforms in healthcare requires effective government leadership and collaboration with civil society and the private sector,” said Connor Floyd, Second Secretary for Development Cooperation, Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh.
Government Support for Inclusive Healthcare
H.E. Ngov Kang, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting public and private healthcare initiatives, prioritizing high-quality care for people with disabilities, and enhancing healthcare accessibility nationwide.
The Exceed Central P&O Clinic represents a major step forward in providing innovative rehabilitation solutions and comprehensive care for individuals with mobility challenges, reinforcing Cambodia’s commitment to a healthier, more inclusive future.
